At its best, this blog provides snapshots of life in modern Ireland. Otherwise it’s anything that grabs the author’s attention. Seanchai is an Irish Gaelic word, to describe old guys who sat by the fire in the evening and told stories that meandered between fact and fantasy. Blogh is the Gaelic word for a snippet of information, an anecdote or a vignette. In techie Gaelic, blogh is the word for a fragment of data on a hard drive. “The Pale” is the medieval name for Dublin and its hinterland, which is where I live and work.
