Croi, Inishbofin Island Trekking Challenge (Visit this link)
The 2006 Inishbofin Island Trekking Challenge is a new event for Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiology Foundation, located on one of the most westerly islands off the Atlantic coast of Ireland. The trekking challenge will take places on Saturday, October 14th starting at 9am. The route will have you trekking on a variety of surfaces and terrain to include road, bog, beach, shale, ‘hill and hollow’. Irrespective of weather, the Island offers stunning views from every side and is dotted with landmarks of historical, cultural and archeological interest. This trek will be challenging in it’s mixture of terrain - and if we are unfortunate enough to encounter less than ideal weather conditions (a real risk in October)!!
