Call for Parents of Autistic Children

We want to hear YOUR voice, opinions and lived experiences

If you are a parent of an autistic child aged between 3-12 years then this is for you. We are carrying out exciting new research on families of autistic children and we need YOU!


We are looking to find out how you navigate family life with your child. We want to hear about your everyday experiences, daily routines and what helps your child explore the world.

 

Gina Daly is a Children’s Occupational Therapist and PhD candidate at University College Cork (UCC) who is completing this research. This research is looking to find out more about how family life with autistic children who have sensory processing differences.

What will be involved? 

Take part in some interviews (maximum 3) with Gina either online or in-person at a time/location that suits you. These will be arranged to work around your family, and schedule. This will be an informal chat/discussion with no preparation required. We want to hear your voice and experiences as a parent. It is as simple as that!

What do we mean by family life experiences with your child ? 

The everyday routines - Dressing, Mealtimes, School Routine, Sleep, Bathtime. We want to hear all about daily life. 

What your child likes to do at home?  Favourite play activities and ways they spend their time. 

Time spent in your local community with your child. What works well and how do you like to spend time together?
