I bought this item never having used heated rollers before. I found the rollers very easy to use. The big black clips didn't seem to hold my thin hair but the basic clips worked very well.
On my first attempt, I set the heat very low as I have very thin hair and wasn't sure what heat to use. The curls were lovely but dropped within minutes although I had kept them in for about an hour. The next time I used them, I turned the heat up, used heat protecting/styling spray and left them in for about 3 hours. The curls were great and not only lasted all evening but were very wavey for the next day which looked nice as well.
I really loved this item. I have used curling tongs before and although they work very well on my hair, it needs it be done last thing before leaving the house to make sure it looks neat. More often than not, I end up not having time to do it. With the heated rollers I can put them in a few hours before, get my makeup and everything else ready and just take the rollers out and style just before leaving.
The quality of the product is very good. I supose the only thing that could be improved would be to have a compartment for the clips but this is not too much of a problem for me.
I would definatly recommend.

I have tried everything since about age 12 to try to put some lift and bounce into my shoulder length, dead straight hair and these are the best thing I have found in over 20 years!! I tried 80's bendy curlers, the dreaded perm, assorted curling tongs, hot air stylers and straighteners and these win hands down. In the morning, I put them in on dry hair in about 5 minutes before breakfast and by the time I've eaten and put on a bit of make up I can take them out and with a bit of hairspray the style lasts all day. I have had more compliments about my hair at work since I started using these than ever before! There is a definite 'knack' to putting in the pins, you have to really angle them into your head and push them in firmly and you do need to wind the hair tightly around the roller to help it stay firmly. I only use the plastic clips as a 'heat shield' if they are a bit near my ears!! There is also a technique to where to put them in I have found, I try to imagine how the hairdresser does it when you see them doing a shampoo and set. Since I got these I have bought another set to keep at my husband's flat and the travel set to take on holiday which I supplement with 4-5 curlers from the main box. I actually can't live without them now! Easy to use, incredibly quick, great results and gentle on the hair, can't ask for anything more!

The rollers are provided with a variety of clips and roller-holders. They don't take to long to heat up, and they didn't burn my fingers as I put them in. The different sizes were adequate for a full head of long hair, and they produced lovely curls. Now I just have to practice putting them in in the right position in order to acheive the desired results.

I have shoulder length hair which has a wave of its own and having used these rollers I'd have to say I think they'd be much better on longer hair. The curl that it gave my short hair was very firm and bouncy (no matter what setting I used) which would be amazing on long hair but on my short hair meant that my hair was an "attractive" round shape finishing just under my ears.
The product itself is well designed with no nasty velcro to damage your hair. The bulldog clips are made of a similar flimsy plastic to christmas cracker toys but otherwise easy to use. The instructions tell you to close the lid, set what temperature you want and then turn it on. This produces a rather alarming plasticky steam inside the lid which goes away by the time the indicator tells you that the rollers are ready to use.
I'm reserving judgement as to whether or not I'm happy with this buy until my hair is longer. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone with shoulder length hair or shorter!
