Product Description

The original shocked the video gaming world by not only being a great first person shooter, but also an intelligent one. Now one of the greatest stories in interactive fiction is getting another chapter, with a sequel set ten years later.

You play the original Big Daddy - a more independently minded prototype to the giant deep sea divers from the first game. The undersea world of Rapture has been taken over by the mysterious Big Sister, who has begun to kidnap children from coastal cities around the world.

A much larger range of plasmid powers are now available, as well as more standard weapons and the Big Daddy's iconic rivet gun and drill. The game's real conflict is emotional though, as you are once again forced to make a decision between sacrificing Little Sisters or protecting them and making your task even harder. Bioshock 2 will make you think, and not just about tactics.

  • Atlas shrugged: The award-winning story-telling of Bioshock continues with a new hero and a new threat in the underwater dystopia of Rapture.
  • Evolve yourself: New plasmids, including new dual-wielded attacks, let you unleash amazing powers but at the cost of your humanity.
  • Cry Little Sister: As the first Big Daddy you are far faster than the other lumbering giants, but equipped with the same weapons and the ability to venture onto the ocean floor.
  • Big boss: Defend yourself against the constant attacks of Big Sister by setting up traps and ambushes, but always making sure you have an escape route!
  • Separate lives: For the first time Bioshock has its own multiplayer mode - featuring a completely different story and created by developer Digital Extremes (Unreal Tournament 2004).

4 out of 5 stars Good Good Good   July 26, 2010
Bioshock 2 is very similair to the first one but in this Bioshock you play in the big daddy suit. Now, the big daddy suit is more than just a metal suit it has a drill on it and you can use plasmids and other guns. The main gun is probably the rivet gun wich is good, you can get differant tipes of rivets. Bioshock 2 wouldnt be the same whithout the little sisters you help them or Hartest them if you Harvest them you get there adam which is very useful it helps you build your charecter but if you adopt her she will guide you to the adam which linger on dead bodies. When you first lay the little sister on to this dead body to get the adam splicers begin to atack you in large numbers. Splicers are in the first Bioshock but in this bioshock there a little bit creepy anyway splicers are like mutants only some of them carry guns and poles.

Now onto plasmids they are probably the main part of Bioshock. Plasmids alow you to shoot eletric bolts and lots of other plasmids through your arm. There are flames to shoot aswell and a plasmid which you can pick stuff up and throw them at splicers whithout even picking them up. Onto something that not even big daddys can defeat big sissters, now big sisters can take a big daddy out so you need to be careful when you meet one. Big sisters look like divers but they hve a blade sticking out of there wrists.

The hardest splicers are Brute splicers they are big and fat a where waist cotes. They are quite hard unless you have drill fuel.

5 out of 5 stars Bioshock 2 game   July 23, 2010
Better than the first one because you play as the Big Daddy. Another big difference is the ability to dual wield weapons and plasmids. The best plasmid is the stone one. Instead of the crossbow from the first you have the spear gun. The story is also good. Bioshock 2 is set in the setting : Rapture, an underwater city. Another new addition is the Rivet gun.It is very similar to the first one. I would say it is slightly better than the first one.

5 out of 5 stars Better than the original   July 20, 2010

I bought this game as I really enjoyed playing Bioshock 1.

The graphics are very good and look very realistic, and are better than the original. The use of lighting is very good and imrpoves the atmosphere.

The gameplay is very similiar apart from being able to use plasmids and weapons at the same time. This makes combat more interesting and fun. The addition of being able to play as a Big Daddy is better and protecting the Little sisters from hordes of splicers is fun. The only bad point is that you cannot backtrack through previous levels, in Bioshock 1 you could explore previous levels. This means that you have to play the game again to see the levels again.

The replay value it not too high. You can change the games difficulty at any time, and the different endings can be achieved by creating a save before the last section.

The sound is very good as it makes the atmosphere scary.

Graphics: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Replay value: 7/10
Sound: 8/10
OVERALL: 9/10

4 out of 5 stars You get to Big Daddy drill people's faces   July 13, 2010

Bioshock 2 is a great game. Some have said that its not as good as the first one and while this is true it doesn't really mean much. The first bioshock was fantastic and if this was only half as good it would still be excellent. But its actually a very good game. The gameplay is similar to the first with plasmids and weapons firing simultaneously and chaos everywhere. The plot is actually better than the first one, it feels tighter and more original than the first. The graphics aren't as impressive as I would have hoped and Rapture feels a bit less intriguing than it used to but thats only because we explored it so much in the first bioshock.
The famed big sisters aren't all that impressive but it is always nerve-racking when you hear the scream telling you they are coming.
Overall its an excellent game and at such a low price its a no brainer.

5 out of 5 stars boishock 2, X box 360. action shooter video game   July 5, 2010
V. scanlon (UK)
Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. You are the very first Big Daddy as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival.

Multiplayer in BioShock 2 provides a rich prequel experience that expands the award-winning BioShock gameplay. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject in the underwater city that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the game's toolset to survive as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.
