8th Confession of a hack writer June 19, 2010 Sheumais (Glasgow, Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an appalling book, offering no reward to those who feel compelled to finish any book they start reading. Two dimensional, unengaging characters in a thin plot with no tension, it is truly amazing the author of this piece has produced any best sellers. It really is more fun watching England play football.
amazinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng dont believe all the bad !!! June 16, 2010 G. W. Thomas (carlisle uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Could not fault this book. Please dont beleive all this bad review on this. Why they have to dis this book i cant understand? an absolutely amazing book, i couldnt put it down i read it from cover to cover in one night. truely brilliant Cant wait for the next one.
Not as good as expected June 10, 2010 Susie N. Given this is a James Patterson book I was expecting something gripping. However, it was not to be. The type is larger than normal books, the chapters extremely short an the story seems to be bits thrown together.
Very disappointed and like others I feel he is just churning them out. He has lost his edge over other authors and needs to slow down a bit.
womens mirder club June 2, 2010 Mr. P. Williams (Scotland) I have read all of the previous books in the series but did not think that this one was as good.I found it too predictable, you knew what was coming next.
Pretty weak June 1, 2010 John M (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I see that James Patterson is credited with being the world's best selling thriller writer. Well, this is certainly no guarantee of a good read. This is really rather unchallenging, with one-dimensional characterisation and two rather weak plot lines sitting side by side. The book is well over 400 hundred pages, but with large print and over a hundred very short chapters and a lot of dead page space, so really it is actually quite a short book. Consequently there is little character or plot development. I had no interest in the love-lives of any of the characters, which added nothing to the story, other than padding out the book. The drug-dealer thread was poorly developed and the 'snake killer' storyline ridiculous. A real beach read to be discarded in the nearest bin after completion. Any chance of a refund?
